Calabasas and Camarillo's putty-hued hillsides flanking the 101 Freeway are stunning in fall, as are Los Angeles's smoky taupe tapestrys that cover its edges - one of Southern California's signature seasons. While the colors may not match those seen in New England, fall offers welcome respite from summer's scorching heat as well as an opportunity to experience this urban paradise in a new light.
From mid-October through November, several parks and gardens near Los Angeles explode with fall colors.
